Located on the stunning Northumberland Coastline with views out over the North Sea, this existing beach house has undertaken a substantial two storey extension which has more than doubled the existing square footage. Key challenges included maintaining key cosy beach house features, whilst offering up an open plan contemporary living environment to cater for two families.

The open plan ground floor kitchen/living/dining space spills out onto the garden and provides the ideal social family space.

On the first floor the provision of a second living space with spill out onto a large full width terrace space offers uninterrupted stunning views out over the North Sea.

The rear facade of the beach house facing the sea has maximised the amount for glass to focus views and engagement with the water.  Materials for the space include the warmth of a solid timber floor juxtaposed against the large durable quartz worktop, whilst keeping a simple white palette for the spaces elsewhere.
